Is it just me or has drugstore makeup been steppin up their game over the past couple of years?!
In the past I would peruse the cosmetic isles while at my local Walgreens or Bartells, but never with the intention of purchasing anything. I believe this all stems from one too many bad drugstore glittery eye shadows and frosted pink lipsticks purchased while in Junior High. Or maybe it is from the foundations I would always try to match to my skin tone but would inevitably make me look like an Oompa Loompa (*I have the High School pictures to prove it*). Whatever the case maybe, I pretty much gave up on drugstore makeup and have been getting my makeup from the department store counters since college.
Well its a brand new day folks…cause I be buyin up some drugstore makeups like Craaazzy!
I was recently at my local Fred Meyer’s this week and happened to buy a nice little haul of beauty items for under $9.00 including tax!
(L to R: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 065 Creamsicle, Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in 10 Almost Famous, Essence Colour & Go Nail Polish in You Belong To Me, and Wet n Wild Nail Polish in Night Prowl.)
I am loving the Revlon Lip Butter…but I knew I would seeing that this is seriously color #8 in my collection. Yes, I have an addiction. I am fully aware of this. :) But for those who live in the NW, Fred Meyers has in store coupons for $3.00 off any Revlon product….go get you some!
As for the Essence Eye liner I am still sort of “so-so” on it, I need to use it a little bit longer to form a real opinion on it. Going to use the Essence blue polish tonight…totally excited to paint my nails while watching Downton Abbey!
And lastly the Wet n Wild nail polish…I bought this with the hope that it would be a match to the Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance polish that I have been lusting after at Nordstroms.
Now the Wet n Wild Night Prowl (to the right) may not be an exact match to the Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance polish (to the left) it does the trick and was only 5% of the cost!
